When creating this bag, I knew I wanted to utilize either denim or leather so I chose to seek out materials first. When looking at jeans I realized I could utilize the pockets and transfer them into the bag and so I decided to use denim as the material outside. I then went to a fabric store where I came across this glossy blue pleather material and instantly knew that it would become my interior. Using denim itself was difficult enough with the sewing machine due to it’s thickness, so when it came to the pleather, I had to hand sew most of it aswell as the two materials together and the handle. Lastly I wanted to attempt at utilizing the embroidery machine in our lab and created this butterly/astronomy design.
